Scanning cards, explained

Point your camera at a card and get the exact printing with a live price. How the scanner decides, why it sometimes asks instead of answering, and how batch mode clears a stack.

The scanner works from your browser, phone or desktop: open the camera or upload a photo, and we match the card against our own catalog of over 300,000 printings. Pick the game first; it makes every match sharper.

Sure means sure

The scanner tells you honestly how confident it is. A clear match confirms itself with the price and one-tap actions. A close call shows you the top candidates and lets you pick, with the set and collector number to compare against the card in your hand. A photo we can't call gets said out loud, never guessed.

When the picture alone can't separate two printings with the same art, the scanner reads the collector number printed on the card to break the tie. A match confirmed that way is marked so you can see the number was checked.

Getting clean scans

  • Fill the frame with the card, straight on. The guide box is the target.
  • Sleeves are fine. If shine washes out the art, tilt a touch.
  • Foil stack? Flip foil mode once and every scan lands with the finish set.

Batch mode

Scanning a pile? Batch mode queues every scan without stopping you, and the queue survives a refresh. Review the stack once at the end: confirmed cards are ready, close calls carry their candidates, and one tap adds everything to your portfolio with duplicates stacked.
